If you saw my post yesterday, then you saw my recent coffee table situation. I have been using my black tufted velvet bench as a coffee table. I love the bench but I have been searching for a marble and gold coffee table since I moved into Villa Noir. I have been wanting something rectangular, with beautiful brass legs. Nothing round would work and some other table just have legs I am not totally in love with.
I had been eyeing this marble + gold coffee table from West Elm which I love but its just a wee bit too small for my living area. I wanted something a little bit bigger. Since October I have been searching everywhere.
The other day I was shopping with a client and we happened to go into a Goodwill for some vintage gold frames. As we went to the checkout line, there was this table just sitting there. At first glance, its one ugly piece of furniture but to someone like me who sees the beauty in almost everything, I saw this as a perfect table to DIY! And it was $14.99!
It was just the perfect shape, style and size for exactly what I wanted.
First, I scraped off the wood film on it because I wanted it to be bare at the core. I ordered this paper from Amazon to cover the wood table, it was the perfect size and length and I have a little bit extra for another project I want to do. Thank you 2 day shipping Amazon prime. It was about $24.00
I actually tried 3 different types of gold spray paint. All were Krylon, there was brass, gold and gold metallic. This was the one I went with. It has the best shine out of all of them. This one was 6$.
