A bedroom side table

The next thing on my shopping list...

Typical of New York, my bedroom is particularly small and I refuse to give up my big bed. So, I am in search of the perfect small side table that will fit that area. On the one side, my large vanity fits perfectly but on the other, I need something small and sweet, just enough for a little lamp and an accent or two. By the way, I am collecting my favorite things on luvocracy. Check em out!

The Decorista tip of the day...add stripes for a quick pick-me-up!

This weekend in LA was the gloomiest of the season so far.
I haven't spent that much time indoors in a while. It got me thinking...
While the weather starts to get gloomier, my bar area needed a little pick-me-up.
So I painted some stripes to perk myself up.
It totally worked and now I am in love.

(as always, please forgive my poor photography skills...one day!)

my furniture revamp weekend {DIY goodness}

So, I haven't actually finished my red painted piece of furniture (its still in the works)
However, I do want to share with you what else I worked on this weekend.
I found this super amazing credenza on my street a few weeks ago.
I knew instantly that it would be a perfect piece for my bedroom and with a little white glossy paint
it became perfection!
I am so in love with it. It stores all of my handbags and other items that need to be stowed away.
In other blissful news,
my little sophie is just the cutest pup ever.
So, I made a little painting of her silhouette for my art wall in my bedroom.
It's almost finished so I will post pics soon.

Hope you guys all had a wonderful weekend.
Did you do any DIY makeovers???? I wanna see!
(sooo my favorite thing about blogging...seeing what other people can do)
happy  monday!

Zgallerie boot umbrella stand {my entryway}

I am absolutely obsessed with my Zgallerie boot umbrella stand. It sits so perfectly in my apartment entryway. Honestly, the minute I laid eyes on that fella, I just knew I had to have one.
Every person that walks in my apartment door just gushes over it. Cute and affordable home decor, what's better?

I also strongly suggest grouping together a collection of vintage gold ornate frames...
(easy to find at your local thrift)
and grouping them on your wall for instant impact!!!!
Did all of this for less than 25$. A steal.

Decorista Home Tour: zebra rug + my bedroom

I am just dying to know the winner of the Zebra Rug giveaway...only 2 more days to enter!
Thank you so much to all who entered. I really enjoyed hearing all of the fabulous places and the cool ways you would use  the zebra rug.
Now I want to share with you a wee bit more of my bedroom and where I put my amazing zebra rug from RugsUSA.
I am so obsessed with it that I put it right in between my bed and my closet
(which is basically a mirrored wall of closet doors)
So when I wake up in the morning, its the first thing I put my feet on and I love that because hardwood floors can get a bit cold in the AM. I want my feet to feel snuggly.
It's a really good size and takes up lots of floor space, which I love and add a big pop of fun pattern to my room...love!
and now here are a few more shots of my room...
You can see the amazing light from the window above my bed coming through (love that in the AM).
The cute print in the top right corner I won from a giveaway on shari's blog.
It adds such a cute + sweet girlie traditionalist touch.
My headboard + two side tables I found in my neighborhood (free stuff is cool).
I painted the side tables a light tiffany blue and I just adore them.
The little pink vintage bug is a gift from my favorite thift store HEDGE in palm springs.
The beautiful starburst mirror above my bed is from Melrose Trading Post here in LA.
(my boyfriend bargained it from 35$ to 8$...he is the BEST at getting a deal)
and now its my favorite piece in my room.
More pics of my room to come soon...(just finishing up a few surprises for you)

my Zgallerie Casablanca lanterns + my patio

Yesterday I posted about my patio, because I have been spending my days there.
Right after the post, my package from Zgallerie arrived and I finally got my casablanca lanterns I have been eyeing ever since I saw them in ashley tisdale's home tour.
How perfect do they look on my patio...I love the green so I changed a few things around since you last saw. My boyfriend also gave me this cute little table he found at a vintage store long ago.
I did lots of cleaning + spray painted it Spa Blue and now its the perfect host to my glass that I love.

my pseudo bathroom wallpaper: ikea SLÄTTHULT decals

I saw this photo and got instant inspiration!
This is my bathroom. It is small and needed some life. Like the photo above.
I was dying to wallpaper it but the landlord says NO!
bummer.
So I bought some floral decals from IKEA...
and now it looks like this and is way more fun!
I think I may add a few more.
{photos taken from blackberry. sorry.}
Have you guys ever used decals???

weekend finds...

So after hearing your feedback on my post about my love affair with empty frames
I took your advice...
I want you all to know how much I appreciate the love + feedback you always give.
It warms my heart.
After scouting for a few more gold frames, I found 2 that fit perfectly inside the big one.
(in real life...it looks bangin'. photos don't do it justice)

also, while at the flea market
I found this beautiful framed Vintage Vogue print.
It was marked for $25 and I got it down to $15.
it is now happily at home over our bar cart.
we love it.

shameless self promotion and a sneak peak of my bedroom REVAMP...

Check me out tomorrow at
I'm doing a guest blog post for my girl, the beautiful bachelorette Bailey!
My Secrets of Spring...

also,
My bedroom is a disaster right now because they are repairing my door.
I am getting a better one...yes!
I took some pics for my mom and decided that I would share a sneak peak with you all.
The color scheme is purple, gold, cream and black.
Dee-lish!
(more pics to come soon...when the new door is up, of course)

holy weekend makeover!

ok...so my apartment is 'under construction' hence, not the best photos.
(i want you guys to see it finished)
I do however, want to share with you one of my recent DIY projects.

I currently live with my male cousin and we have completely opposite taste,
so we are going for a masculine chic look.
A friend of ours gave us these candle holder/panel thingys as a housewarming gift.
(yuck!)
but my cousin loves them...so they are here to stay.
I thought...'hmm, why not recover?'
and they went from this...
to this!
(excuse the lighting, it was so late at night)
it required minimal tools + equipment.

what do you guys think???
