Fashion meets decor: inspiration by Katie Ermilio- Spring 2012

I am just loving New York City during this fashion frenzy. It's been such an incredibly fun and exhausting time. The weather is starting to get cool and I'm breaking out the boots, but I am loving how all the fashion shows are showing color for spring.

So inspired by this Spring 2012 collection by Katie Ermilio. Girl has got some serious feminine wiles. She has me wanting to decorate with gorgeous silk taffeta drapes and bedskirts. I'm dying to add bows to my walls and pleats to my pillows.
Not to mention the fabulous colors for spring...creamy corals and misty mint greens and chartreuse of course, too!
I just know the more fabric and femininity, the better!

So on my decorista radar...gray + yellow

So for some reason I just can't get enough gray in my life. I don't know exactly what it is about it but I have a huge infatuation with him. He's masculine, sharp, cutting edge, and gorgeous! His pretty girlfriend yellow, is just the perfect compliment. Lately, this color scheme is so on my radar. Mixes of grays and yellows are perfect for this season and probably never out of style. Love it.

The Decorista tip of the day...be color confident

Loving this saturday morning in LA. So excited to be back to the city of lots and lots of color!
So, as I'm sure you could get the minute I laid my eyes upon this photo, I died a little. OMG that is some major color action. How completely gorgeous is this colorful jewel toned living room spread? I mean come on, a teal chevron sofa, magenta chairs, minty green ruffled curtains. Major swoonage happening here...so please, never be afraid to use or mix lots of bold color!

Color combination of the day: black, white and wood

I love daydreaming of decor inspiration. Last week I was so into the look of pink and red for the romantic holiday season but today I am inspired by black and white as usual, however I am loving the addition of light woods. It adds just a hint of rustic and earthy to an otherwise stark combo.
I love it for this kitchen or a fabulous office space, and this bedroom is wonderful with this look as well

Wall color wonderful!

Deep, saturated jewel tone hues are going to be all the rage this coming year. I have always been a lover of gorgeous color on walls, but this beautiful shade of teal had me swooning for more. This lovely London home is gorgeous. Elements of traditional are jazzed up to perfection... notice the gorgeous green fabrics on the chairs. The gold lighting in the library literally took my breath away, so creative and chic.

How beautiful does Colette Van Den Thillart look in her london digs? She is the creative director for
NH Design. Her taste is absolutely incredible... a well deserved House + Home feature!
