I don't know what it is about winter that makes white so appealing. I think it's the thought of white snow falling on the streets that just floods my decorista soul. My apartment in NYC has the most gorgeous marshmellow white walls in the living room and I adore the look. At the same time, I obviously love a good colored wall but truly think that white walls can look great when styled appropriately. It always looks good with modern furnishings and such. I adore gold accents on white, that might be the most beautiful. I also think rich woods that look almost unfinished make white just sing. Don't know what it is today, but I'm loving winter white.
I've got my eye on a few places in Austin that I would love to buy. Real estate shopping is probably my favorite thing to do and I'm stalking online so much lately. My dream kitchen would totally be a big glossy white kitchen with pops of gold in the accents. A little bit of marble and dark flooring would be ideal too. It's a little bit different that your normal kitchen, but hey, thats me. Here are some looks that really catch my eye.
How incredible would those big brass handles be on a fridge? Agh! I just can't take how good it is. I love the tall tree in this pic too, keeping that green around. The white + gold glam look is so right up my alley, I'm really hoping that whatever place I get, I get to do this! Wondering what your dream kitchen looks like?
There is nothing I love more than a big, cozy, fluffy white sofa. It's one of those things that just will never go out of style, am I right? So how can you make these shabby chic sofas make a more modern statement? A touch of black. It's a new obsession of mine, to find more decor ideas daily. This one is right up my alley, especially because I have a white sofa in my own living room. This first look is so chic with black trimmed ribbon on the pillows.
I also think these black thin stripes can be very chic...and there is nothing like a good piping job, to make a sofa just kill it.
