8 incredibly chic hotels & cities I'm dying to visit

The Decorista September 3, 2014

I've been on the hunt for a perfect place to suggest for our upcoming family trip. I'd like to get out of the states and visit somewhere exotic and fabulous. I've narrowed down my list to my favorite cities with hotels that are visually enticing to me. I'm all about aesthetics when I travel. Not only do I want to be in comfort but I want everything around me to be decorated very well. I'm a wee bit of a snob in that way. You never know if the weather is bad and you get stuck indoors, the place has got to look good, am I right? lol. Here are my top 8 I'm dying to go. If you guys have any suggestions, please feel free to let me know!

1. ShangriLa Paris. I just get the Marie Antoinette vibe from this room and of course I'd love to pretend to be here, if only just for a day. Perhaps I could do that here.

2. The Langham London. Check out the Artesian bar outfitted in all lavender. Oh, so damn chic.

3. The Gritti Palace Hotel Venice. I just can't with this stylish decor. The rug looks so soft and comfortable. I would love to wake up to all of this style.

4. The Ivy Hotel Sydney. I love Sydney, probably my favorite city ever and the deliciousness of color going on in here. Yes please.

5. Hotel Habita Monterrey Mexico. In contrast to my more glamorous & feminine visual interests, this masculine chic look is also enticing to me. I love how modern it is. I also love Mexico.

6. Hotel Georgia Vancouver. I have been just dying to get to VanCity and I hear this hotel has the most incredible customer service ever. Mindblowing in fact. Needless to say, I want to get here. Oh, and with interior design by Munge Leung, you just can't beat it.

7. The Grand Hotel Oslo. I would just do anything to get to this hotel immediately. Obviously for the color, with a good bar and wifi, who would leave?

8. Selman Marrakech. The photo here should actually speak for itself. Imagine a lobby like this and what the rest of the hotel could be. The gorgeous chandelier, purple sofas and dramatic accents just seal the deal. I've got to get here.

Getaway to Miami: the Raleigh Hotel

The Decorista January 24, 2014

In Austin last night there was a snow storm, its freezing & there is a layer of white ice all on the streets. This is so not my scene. I left NYC for the winter because I love the heat, I love a tropical vibe, every day of my life. Today, I'm all about booking a get away trip to the nearest tropical location & one of my best friends lives in Miami and has been dying for me to come visit. Hence, the Raleigh Hotel, one of the chicest hotels in my opinion. It's not only gorgeous & tropical but there is something nostalgic about it, the decor is a throw back to the Art Deco era. I love the pastel colors in the interiors in addition to the black and white contrast throughout.

If you like the whole vibe as much as I do, you can add a few pieces to your home and totally get the feeling.

You can put this black and white umbrella on your patio for a dose of fabulousness.

Then don a fab  Alice & Olivia Romper, it will get you in that poolside vibe & throw on these E & J sunnies, too.

A palm leaf headboard will put a South Beach vibe into any room, perfect for a guest room.

Why not add a few of these cute Hennie chairs to your outdoor space & a  blush pink garden stool to top off the look.

IF YOU CAN ACTUALLY GET AWAY TO MIA, HERE ARE A FEW MIAMI TRAVEL ESSENTIALS I LIKE:

Hotel chic: a very glamorous restaurant in Paris

After yesterday's post on the new hot color on the scene, radiant orchid, I am finding myself drawn more and more toward the jewel tones of the world. Case in point, one of the most magical places in all of the world, Paris, is always giving me some good inspiration to work with. The Beau Marly hotel groupkills it when it comes to winning design. I recently stumbled upon this gorgeous restaurant in Le Caffe' Paris designed by Dimore Studio. It just makes me want to be in Paris right now.

I love the bold muted colors of blues and greens, with even more bold and gorgeous wallpaper. A different take on leaves + one of my favorite Florence Broadhurst patterns to be seen. I love the French curves on almost everything. The emerald green chairs are so chic as are the mirrors and screens that sit in every corner as to soften the space. Not only is this serious inspiration for me, its another place to add to my long list of must visit places. Be inspired.
