After a weekend of antiquing, I'm ready to get back to finishing up some boards for a client presentation. I've got a new client with a beautiful new home in downtown Austin that I'm designing. I'm thrilled about working on it because its such a hip modern pad. I'm on the hunt for mega inspiration in the modern sector. I've taken a fancy to something particularly chic, a clean and modern home with a neutral palate and it just has me daydreaming of how cozy and chic modern can be.
From the rug to the ceiling, every detail is calm and so so soft. I love the cowhide thing happening on the ceiling, not sure what it is but I'm loving what its doing for this space. Then I notice how soft that white rug must be, which does everything for this room. I also love the petrified wood tables. They offer a contrast to the stark white furnishings. Yes and yes.
The artwork is also neutral but so modern and elegant. I'm definitely all for that. Especially in the bedroom where modern is made to look a little bit more feminine here. There is something about this bedroom that I am drawn to. Perhaps its the modern side tables that are lighter than usual, or the lamps with white and a red contrasting appeal. Oh, and check out the mirrored bathroom. It's looking pretty snazzy in there to me. As much as I'm much more dramatic than this simple, modern look, I could absolutely add some of this to my design sensibilities.
