The Decorista Style File...what I want now!

Fresh off a fabulous Thursday evening of soirees (including a Veranda event), I am completely inspired by the cover of the new issue of Veranda. The gorgeous cover shot is a Miles Redd design and is over the top amazing. I love the way he used the beautiful emerald hue.
I am always inspired by decor when I shop for fashion and this season emerald green is on my radar.
I am so craving these delicious goodies...

 the Emu Outdoor Re-trouve Chair
What would I do with the fab chairs?
I would pop a set of four of those adorable Emu chairs around a fab table
and throw in some amazing accessories like...
Gorgeous missoni beach towels that are so delicious and soft.
A pretty patterned patio umbrella, i adore the ones with fringe.
No patio in palm springs would be complete without some Trina Turk cushions.
Anthropologie has the best go to dishes for outdoor fun!
And to finish it off with a kiss, I love the whimsy of a  yellow garden stool !

The Decorista Trend Spotting...rock candy

via
I am smitten with everything about this photo. Such drama and glamour.
What I am drawn to is that gorgeous stone, its completely alluring.
Rock candy is oh so chic for the home. Next to candlelight It can glam up any space.
My current obsession is amethyst as my favorite color is purple.
It makes for accessorizing perfection.

for the love of beautiful accessories!

I have always been a fan of this delightful + dreamy room.
The tufted sofa is just calling out to me,
and so is the beautiful built-in bookshelf filled to the brim with pretty things.
What I really love about this room however, is the beautiful female bust.
She is just gorgeous, no?

Nothing gives a 'cultured' look to a room like a beautiful bust.
I love how Kelly Wearstler decorates with the beautiful sculptures consistently,
they are such timeless accessories.
So, today, while running around these SF city streets, I will be on the lookout for some.
I have a client that needs one stat!

Decorating for fall, Tartan style...

I am loving all things fall right now.
The magazines on the shelves are thick and full of juicy goodness and football season is around the corner, YES!
This fall, I am inspired by so much and to start off the season,
I suggest you throw in some of this beautiful print to your home.

Zgallerie on the regular...bright orange + black and white stripes

1I know...I have a problem.
My local Zgallerie is right next door to my local Starbucks.
Not a good combination, as both are high on my list of weaknesses.
Today, I had to go in (at least it's Friday) because this huge black and white striped outdoor canopy called my name, very loudly. I had to go in.
How perfect is this? I need a pool pronto!
I am loving the bright orange colors all around the store...
and how could you not fall for these adorable boot umbrella stands?
or this gorgeous peacock serving tray.
love. love. love.

decorating with collections + Palm Springs vintage shopping

Happy Cinco de Mayo everybody! Hope you guys are ready for a fun day...
The past few weeks have been very busy for me.
I have been on a shopping spree for my online store that I will be opening soon (stay tuned).
I have hit up my favorite spots all over LA and Palm Springs with gusto. It has been a blast!
The shops in Palm Springs just blow my mind, they have the most amazing and rare items.
One thing I love is the abundance of collections and I really love decorating with collections.
Here are my favorite collections I found on this particular shopping excursion.

The above collections were found at one 'must shop' Palm Springs boutique... Bon Vivant.
Rare and gorgeous glass (similar to the glass in the Parker Hotel). I think this glass in collections would be gorgeous in any home. These brass owls are adorable too, it was so hard not to want the entire group of cute little guys.

These gorgeous horses and uber cool vintage VW beetles are from HEDGE. It's a ridiculously gorgeous + fun vintage furnishings store in Palm Springs, that I just could not get enough of.
{Kelly Wearstler + Trina Turk shop here}
The guys who own the store are out of control friendly...if you ever get to go ask for the special iced coffee. It's delicious!
{I was so smitten with those VW beetles, I had to come home with the pink one...too cute!}

Here are some more shots of the packed with goodies store.

the Art of Living...cocktail hour

The ubiquitous bar cart.
We all love it. We all need it. We all want it.
So why not make a nod to the timeless phrase 'cocktail hour' and create an adorable + stylish space for
your refreshments.
Even if you aren't a big drinker you can really still make stylish bar accommodations
for your digs. I like to make a big pitcher of cucumber water or lemonade and I do love the way green Pellegrino bottles look in the home.
