Everything about this snow in NYC is intoxicating. I am just loving it. Crispness in the air and snow on the ground, its very magical. It's making me really crave warm neutral interiors. A lot of layers of neutrals can be just as chic as the high contrast black & white that I usually am into. For some reason, I'm leaning this way towards all my new projects. Take for example, this gorgeous brown/taupe wall color. I can't stop reveling in the beauty of it. It's just such a rich color yet at the same time completely neutral. I love the embellishments of non color except for that cool pastel artwork.
There is also something very special about the hints of black and white added to the mix. It gives a little edge to the neutral layers. [probably how I would have this look at home] I also love the way it feels without bits of modern black, it can be very updated shabby chic glam. Different exposed woods and natural textures can be modernly comforting.
You can also go the neutral route while still keeping an eclectic bohemian vibe. Just add in a cool photo or two, some mirrored pieces and exotic accessories. It's all about your personality and how you accessorize.
I am obsessed with the way Tom Scheerer decorates with neutrals.
