So, I finally found an apartment. fingers crossed it all goes smoothly and I will be moving in less than 2 weeks. The apartment is gorgeous and as you can guess, I have been obsessing over my bedroom wallcolor. I love so many colors, black, white, deep blues, but for some reason lately I have been secretly in love with beige walls. More cocoa beige than just plain beige, I feel like it could be a very serene feeling room. Seems like a boring color, but I almost feel like it would be such a fun challenge. My mission...to make beige work it!

I LOVE beige w/grey. I think it may be my new obsession. Congratulations on the new place! I live vicariously through you. :) I'll be visiting NY 4th of July weekend. Woo-hoooo!! First time ever.
Congrats on the apartment- so exciting!!!! And I can't wait to see how you make beige fabulous- I love love that first room...the green velvet is fabulous with the beige.
That's quite a feat!...but with a fun vibrant sofa like that last shot, it should be super hot!!! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Definitely have the last 3 as my fave!! Beige can definitely be romantic and calm. Lighting works so great on those walls, especially at night!

First off, congratulations on the new apartment — how fun, and I bet you can hardly stand it, wanting to get in there! Secondly, you can totally make beige work — would love to see pictures, too :)

I love the third image with the rose accents. Very ladylike. And funny that you used the word "serene" - that was the first thing that came to mind when I looked at image #1!
congrats! now decisions decisions....I just love beige walls. there's just so much you can do with it and so many different ways you can bring color into the room...be it with something as simple as flowers, wall decor or pillows and like drew (above) commented lighting is a great way to brighten things up!
