The Art of Living: using curtains to make a statement

I am always a sucker for pink. It's the girlie girl in me.
How incomplete would this dining room look without these amazing panels?
Fabulous curtains are essential to the basic elements of a stylish home.
You would be amazed what the right drapes can do for your space.
They cozy-up even the most modern spaces and
just the right amount of flair can give romance to any room.
When done right, they can be multi-tasking too.

secret of domestic bliss #34...painted shelving

For a super easy yet really beautiful trick to give your place some impact...
paint the inside of your shelves.
It's a clever way to add some color into your home without the commitment of a full on color change.
I just love the idea of changing things up in common areas in your home that usually go unnoticed.
You can use wallpaper, I love that look as well, but never underestimate the power of just painting with a  simple color.
These beautiful bookcases + kitchen shelves are the perfect depiction of this clever decorating idea... so lovely to look at!

for the love of beautiful accessories!

I have always been a fan of this delightful + dreamy room.
The tufted sofa is just calling out to me,
and so is the beautiful built-in bookshelf filled to the brim with pretty things.
What I really love about this room however, is the beautiful female bust.
She is just gorgeous, no?

Nothing gives a 'cultured' look to a room like a beautiful bust.
I love how Kelly Wearstler decorates with the beautiful sculptures consistently,
they are such timeless accessories.
So, today, while running around these SF city streets, I will be on the lookout for some.
I have a client that needs one stat!

inspired by San Francisco! decorating with white and cream

The mix of bright whites and soft, dreamy creams is really well executed here.
Something about these living rooms just screams cozy + elegant living.

Today I am in San Francisco...enjoying the beautiful weather and the sunny skies.
I love being in this city, something about the crispness in the air just gets me going...
makes me want to decorate in whites and creams. ooh la la.

It's more of an artistic approach to style.
